Furniture in classrooms was not the same as now. There were long benches with the desk attached to it. The desk could lift up to let the pupils along. There weren’t many shelves and presses in a classroom. There was no sink and counter like we have. They might have a blackboard on the wall and also one on an easel. As time moved on there was better furniture. There were tables, chairs and some places got a sink and counter. There was more storage for books and equipment. Now we have lots of furniture, presses, tables, chairs, counters and even computer tables in our school. Now our school is really nice and I’m glad I’m going now.
