Most Enterprising Student Award
Congratulations to Emily White who received her Most Enterprising Student Award from Geraldine Beirne, Offaly Enterprise Board.

 

 
Art Competition
Some of our pupils featured in the Lions Club Art competition in Tullamore
School Tour
Our senior classes had a great day in Dublin where they visited the National Museum and the G.A.A. museum in Croke Park.
National Children's Choir
Our 5th and 6th classes were part of the National Children's Choir and they put on a wonderful concert in Tullamore. The large crowd really appreciated the quality and variety of the show.
GAA Visit
AS part of Féile 2009, stars from the world of GAA visited the school in May. Among our guests were Offaly star Brian Carroll and Cork camogie All Ireland winner, Jenny Duffy.

Confirmation 2009
Congratulations to our sixth class children who were confirmed in Kilcormac on May 1st. It was a very special day for them and their families. Congratulations were also extended to Bishop Michael Smith on his silver jubilee as bishop of Meath.

Badminton Success
Congratulations: to Michael, Adam, Éabha and Dylan on winning the national schools Under 10 cup; to Ciaran, Diane, Mikayla and Peter on winning the under 10 plate. Thanks to Judy for all the coaching.
Mervin the Magician
Mervin the Magician visited the infants, first and second classes to entertain the children and remind them of his very important message - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Incredible Edibles
Third to sixth classes have been busy sowing vegetables as part of the incredible edible campaign.

Gortnamona N.S. win the overall award at the Mountbolus St. Patrick's Day Parade.

St. Patrick's Day Parade
Our school won the overall award in the Mountbolus parade with our entry of Presidents -Irish and American - through the ages. Congratulations to the children, parents committee and teachers for all the effort in preparing such a fine entry.

Taoiseach Visits Gortnamona
An Taoiseach, Brian Cowen T.D., officially opened the extended school on Nov. 21st 2008. Most Rev. Michael Smith, Bishop of Meath and patron of the school, blessed the building. Click to see images from the day.

New Classrooms
After a hectic few months, our extension was completed and ready for occupation on Sept. 1st. Congratulations to all involved especially John O'Keefe and his team of builders (Carroll O'Keefe) who made sure everything was in order for the beginning of the new schoolyear.
